ITT-Event 2019: Grabbing the opportunities of digitalisation

How can transport and logistics companies maintain or improve their competitiveness in times of increasing competition pressure? Trimble proposed solutions during their ITT-event on September 18th in Greven. Under the motto "Growing together into the future", solutions were demonstrated for different areas of application that help in making work processes simpler and more efficient. About 100 visitors were able to find information during lectures or at the stands of the exhibitors and exchange their experiences with other participants.

"Today is full of technical possibilities for transport and logistics companies to improve their competitiveness. At the ITT event, we showed which concrete solutions are already available to them”, says Lutz Siegert, Country Manager at Trimble Transport & Logistics.

For example, Björn Heil, Project Manager at Trimble, explained how transportation and logistics companies can already use the electronic waybill (e-CMR) and Kai Hausherr, also Project Manager at Trimble, explained how to make better use of telematics data.

A focus on the driver

The drivers were particularly important at this year's ITT event. Andreas Rinnhofer, Managing Director and founder of INN-ovativ KG / Spedifort, reported on the use of e-learning programs in the education and training of professional drivers and how they can help in reducing the number of expensive classroom trainings.

Heiko Stein, proxy and driver coach at Economic Drive Stein GmbH, showed how the handling performance can be improved with the help of Trimble's Performance Portal, which leads to a reduction in fuel and maintenance costs.

Building a network of contacts, with a touch of fun

In addition to the presentations, the participants were able to inform themselves at the booths of the exhibitors and make personal contacts. Among this year’s exhibitors could be found C-Informationssysteme GmbH, Economic Drive Stein GmbH, InfPro IT Solutions GmbH, INN-ovativ KG, LIS AG, SE4L GmbH (Sauer...Software), T Comm Telematics, TRANSDATA Software GmbH & Co. KG, Trimble MAPS as well as the heavy vehicle section of Münster’s police.

At the end of the event, visitors then had the opportunity to casually exchange during an informal indoor mini golf tournament.

We thank the STR gewerblicher Güterkraftverkehr GmbH & Co. KG for provisioning the truck.
